Venerable Dhammadīpa decided to spread the Buddha’s message in Europe. For this purpose, he founded the Forest Peace Buddhist Center with the aim of providing space for the study and practice of Buddhism and other spiritual directions that are consistent with Buddhist teachings. The name comes from Sanskrit, one of the canonical languages of Buddhism. Shanta Vana can be translated into Czech as forest peace or quiet forest.
